Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has said the government will implement the Madras High Court’s order quashing the land acquisition proceedings for the Chennai-Salem eight-lane expressway.

The court 8 April stayed the operation of the government order on the highway plan.

Delivering the judgement, the two-judge bench said the officials had not done proper planning before launching the project.

The court, staying the acquisition of farmlands to executive the highway project, enumerated five reasons for stopping it.
