Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Satyabrata Sahoo has said party leaders and star campaigners cannot speak about politics in their interviews to the media from 6 pm today till voting 18 April.
As the deadline for campaigning ends at 6 pm today, the CEO has put out a message that leaders and star campaigners cannot speak politics after that.
With the proliferation of TV, Internet and social media, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stop or track advertisements and political interviews. So, the CEO has declared that political interviews are banned from 6 pm today.
Tamilnadu votes for its 39 MPs and MLAs in 18 constituencies (by-elections) 18 April but results will be out only 23 May.
