Chennai: Online coding platform, WhiteHat Jr, founded by former head of Discovery Networks India, has announced that the firm’s online classes are growing at 400 per cent per month.
Funded by leading venture capitalists – Nexus Venture Partners and Omidyar NetworkIndia, the Edtech firm in a release said it has over 100 teachers on its platform. It has received funds to the tune of Rs 9 crore from the VCs.
A release said the firm is running a daily waitlist of 150 students and added that early graduates of the course have created professional-ready apps downloadable on the App Store. WhiteHat Jr will be launching their professional course for kids in the age group of 13-14 years and claims it has conducted more than 50,000 trials per day. WhiteHat Jr currently offers three level of courses – beginner, intermediate, advanced.
Founder and CEO, WhiteHat Jr, Karan Bajaj, said, “We are overwhelmed by the response shown by the parents to a sunrise subject like coding for kids. We are scaling up our operations and technology to cater to the massive influx and keep up with the consumer interest while also ensuring great teaching experience with our teachers, selected by a rigorous selection process. WhiteHat will be launching the 4 th course in its curriculum which will be a professional level course for the kids in age group of 13-14 years.”
