Chennai: P Mahesh took over charge as the new Divisional Railway Manager of Chennai Division of Southern Railway on 24 April, succeeding Naveen Gulati. An officer belonging to Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), P Mahesh has vast experience in different facets of Railway working, said a press release. He has served in various capacities earlier for the Southern Railway, North Frontier Railway and Integral Coach Factory.
The press release also added that Mahesh has the unique distinction of having held the post of Chief Workshop Manager in three workshops of Indian Railways, namely, Golden Rock workshop, Carriage and Wagon workshops at Perambur and New Bongaigon (Assam). He has also worked as a consultant with RITES while on deputation in Sri Lanka.
