Chennai: Carborundum Universal has released its results for the fourth quarter and FY19 and stated that its consolidated sales for the full year, increased by 14 per cent to Rs 2,656 crore from Rs 2,330 crore (excluding excise duty), the previous year.
The growth was driven by better performance from all the segments the company operates in, it said in a statement. At a standalone level, the growth was at 13 per cent, up from Rs 1,551 crore to Rs 1,752 crore.
Full year consolidated segmental profitability improved for abrasives and ceramics businesses on the back of higher sales volume, it said.
The company, at consolidated level, spent Rs 97 crore on capital expenditure. The profit before tax increased by 14 per cent to Rs 369 crore, while profit after tax including share profits from joint ventures and associates was at Rs 248 crore.
