Chennai: Thiruvallur defeated Salem by eight wickets to win the TNCA Inter-Districts Under-19 tournament here on Monday.
The host dominated throughout the course of the final at the Bojan School of Business and Technology Ground.
Continuing on its over-night first innings score of 175 for five, Thiruvallur surrendered meekly at the start of the second day, getting all-out for 223.
But it pulled things back in the second innings, reducing Salem to 196 for nine. Chasing an easy ?49 for victory, Thiruvallur cruised to its target in 13 overs, losing only a couple of wickets.
