Chennai: G Ajith Kumar (133) and S Senthil Kumar (5/31) delivered match-winning performances as Shivaji Cricket Club trounced Jai Hind Cricket Club by 127 runs in the TNCA Fifth Division Relegation play-off match.
Batting first, Shivaji posted a healthy total of 289 runs, courtesy Ajith’s ton. None of the other batsmen managed to score a half-century.
In the second innings, Senthil removed half of the Jai Hind line-up to propel his side to a comfortable win.
In a Fifth Division Championship play-off match, C Marimuthu (5/27) got a five-wicket haul, but his effort went in vain as Hunters XI lost to National Recreation Club by 48 runs.
