Udhagamandalam: Taking part in the valedictory function of the 123rd annual flower show, Banwarilal Purohit, Tamilnadu governor, said suggested flower shows and competitions should be organised in every district of the state and that the winners to be felicitated at the flower show being organised in Ooty.
Pointing out that Tamilnadu has a history of association with flowers and garlands, the Governor said this idea would be in the fitness of things as it would help bring forth the best of talent in every part of the state.

Tamilnadu is among the leading horticultural states in India and contributes 5.88 per cent towards National Horticulture Production; this accounts for nearly 6.5 per cent of the production of fruits and 19 per cent of the flowers, added the governor.
He also noted that this will also enable spread awareness on the horticultural floral range.
