Apollo group, senior intervnetional cardiologist, Sai Sathish at the curtain raiser event ā€˜Sentient Summit 2019’ in the city yesterday.

Chennai: The Apollo Hospitals group will be hosting a specialised workshop ‘Sentient Summit 2019’ on 8 and 9 June at the Sheraton Grand, ECR.

The main objective of the summit is to bring world-renowned cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in a single place to discuss, debate and deliberate on which heart treatment modalities are best for patients in this ever-changing landscape of of modern healthcare.

Apollo group, senior interventional cardiologist, Sai Sathish said the Sentient Summit 2019 is a promising platform to bring in prominent cardiologists from all over the world to discuss and share the best medical practices to provide quality medical outcomes.

He further added that this event will provide an insight on updating and implementing world class techniques to obtain successful transcather and structural heart programmes.

At the Summit, Dr. Sai Satish, on behalf of the Apollo group, will be pitching in the concept of ‘A Heart Team For India’. “People get confused on how to proceed with the treatment with the cardiologist suggesting a method of treatment and a cardiac surgeon with another. ‘A Heart Team’ was just a concept when theĀ idea was brought up. The cardiologist, cardiac surgeon, cardiac anaesthetist, nurses, referring doctors along with other faculty will sit down as a single unified team to discuss what’s best for the patient to arrive at an unanimous decision on how to treat the patient. We are hopeful that this concept will come into practice in the near future,” he said.

The summit is expected to witness over 400 expert cardiologists and cardiac surgeons from our nation and other prominent countries. Some of the experts participating in the event include Dr Peter Andreka and Dr Geza Fontos from Hungary, Dr Michael Caskey from Phoenix, and our very own Dr AB Mehta, Dr Ajit Mullasari and Dr Mathew Samuel.
