Bengaluru: Even as Karnataka is reeling under political chaos and the JDS Congress coalition government is on the brink of collapse, the State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa was seen playing cricket with party MLAs at a resort near Yelahanka yesterday.

Supreme Court heard the pleas of the 15 dissenting Karnataka MLAs against alleged delay by the Speaker in accepting their resignations yesterday. The legislators have sought direction for Speaker Ramesh Kumar to accept their resignations from the Assembly. With the focus shifting to the apex court, the BJP leader was reportedly seen relaxed, playing cricket with MLAs Renukacharya, S R Vishwanath and others. The photos were posted by the party media cell.

Last week saw heightened political activity in the State. Supreme court will today give its orders on the pleas of the MLAs. Meanwhile, Congress-JD(S) government faces the floor test in the assembly in a day’s time.

16 MLAs – 13 from the Congress and three from JD(S) – have resigned, while two independent MLAs S Shankar and H Nagesh have withdrawn their support to the coalition government.
