Chennai: The tenth Group Show of Chennai Art Addiction was inaugurated at Kodu Art Gallery, Velacheri, on 4 August. A press release said, eminent art critic and poet Indiran inaugurated the painting exhibition.
B R Annapillai, veteran artist and founder-president of the TACIA (Tamilnadu Arts & Crafts Improvement Association), presided over the function.
Indiran said that literature and art should grow together and that Kodu Art Gallery should take it as a motive. He honoured the artists by inviting them to the stage and allowed them to express their feelings. Artists Guruselvam, Ravee, Gunasekar, Gopi Krishnan and Kamaraj have exhibited their 60-plus paintings at the gallery. The show will go on till 13 August.
Indiran also presented prizes to school children who participated in the painting competition organized by Kodu Art Gallery. Schools in and around Velacheri participated in the competition. Kodu Art School is located at No. 191, 100 Feet Bypass Road, (Appasamy Hospital Buildings, Basement), Velacheri.
