Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin today asked the cadres to ensure the victory of the party in the upcoming local body elections to be held in the rural areas.
In a letter addressed to the cadres, he said, ”We should stand with the people. We can reach our destination of victory by garnering the support of people from all walks of life. Candidates who will work for the welfare for the people should be identified and fielded.”
Meanwhile, the DMK has announced the seats allocated for its alliance parties for the local body elections in the Karur constituency. The party’s district secretary in-charge Senthil Balaji announced the DMK will contest from 10 seats and congress from 2 seats.
”D Karthik, K V Vanitha, R Malliga Rathinam, V Thenmozhi, K Eswari Annadhurai, Nandhini, A Kannaiyan, A Vijayakumar, Kalavathy Sakthivel, P Pasuvathi will contest in wards 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 11 respectively. Wards 4 and 12 has been alloted for the Congress,” he tweeted.
On Friday night, the ruling AIADMK released the first list of candidates who will contest on behalf of the party.
