Royapuram nears 1,000 Covid-19 cases

Chennai: Aggressive testing of coronavirus cases is showing its results. There are 5,637 cases of Covid-19 in Chennai.

The locality of Royapuram continues to have the highest number of positive patients with 971 cases. In a single day, 81 new cases were reported in the locality.

According to a press release from the Greater Chennai Corporation today, the area-wise break up of 15 zones says that ten hav coronavirus infections in triple digits.

Kodambakkam is the second highest with 895 positive cases. Yesterday, it was standing at 835 cases. The third highest containment zone is Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar with 699 persons testing positive. The data says that Teynampet has 44 new cases, taking the total number to 608.

Anna Nagar has 468 patients with the infection and Valsaravakkam has 461 cases. In Tondiarpet, the number of positive cases is 437, yesterday it was 402. Adyar has 310 persons with Coronavirus. The figures from Ambattur too refuse to slow down. Currently, there are 276 persons with the virus.

Seven new cases have been reported at Thiruvottiyur, now the total is 127. Other zones such as Madhavaram has 85 cases, Alandur has 67, Manali has 75 cases, Perungudi has 72 cases and Shollinganallur has 65 patients.
