Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation special nodal officer J Radhakrishnan today said a separate action plan has been devised to bring down Covid-19 numbers in Royapuram, which is the worst affected area in Chennai.

Speaking to the media here, he said the government expects constructive cooperation from the public. “It has been decided to implement zone wise tailor-made plans,” he added.

The locality of Royapuram continues to have the highest number of positive patients with 971 cases. In a single day, 81 new cases were reported in the locality.

According to a press release from the Greater Chennai Corporation today, the area-wise break up of 15 zones says that ten hav coronavirus infections in triple digits.

Kodambakkam is the second highest with 895 positive cases. Yesterday, it was standing at 835 cases. The third highest containment zone is Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar with 699 persons testing positive. The data says that Teynampet has 44 new cases, taking the total number to 608.
