Chennai: Tamilnadu today reported 4,280 new Covid-19 cases. With this, the total number of coronavirus infections in the State has touched 1,07,001. Today’s figures were slightly less when compared to Friday’s numbers.
Chennai, which has been reporting more than 2,000 cases lately, today posted 1,842 fresh coronavirus infections, taking the total number of pandemic affected persons in the metropolis to 66,538.
As many as 65 persons lost their lives to coronavirus in various parts of the State today. With this, the total number of fatalities in the State due to Covid-19 has touched 1,450.
On the other hand, 2,214 patients were discharged today from different hospitals in Tamilnadu, taking the total number of recoveries in the State to 60,592, according to the State government’s Health department bulletin released today evening.
