Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who is set to hold a meeting with District Collectors on Wednesday to take a decision on extension of lockdown in Tamilnadu, will meet a panel of medical experts on Thursday before taking a final decision.
While the meeting with Collectors would take place via video conferencing, the meeting with medical experts would happen at the State Secretariat in Chennai, sources said.
According to sources, lockdown will continue till the end of August with some more relaxations. However, it is said the ban on public transport as well as malls and cinema halls will remain in force.
“This is because the Covid-19 numbers are steadily growing across the State, though they are coming down in Chennai. So, more relaxations are on cards for the metropolis,” sources added.
