Chennai: After the Karuppar Kootam YouTube channel made derogatory comments on Lord Muruga and its members were arrested, another such controversy has come to the fore.
A police complaint has been filed against blogger ‘Savukku’ Sankar by Hindu Makkal Katchi, Akila Bharatha Hindu Mahasabha.
The complaint was lodged by Kalimuthu, general secretary of the organisation, at the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner’s office. He said that Shankar’s tweets were insulting, hurting Hindu sentiments and creating a divide between Hindus.
He particularly referred to a recent tweet where he insulted Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan. His complaint said, “On 5 August the Ram Mandir’s foundation stone was laid with a ‘Bhoomi pooja’ in Ayodhya. Many believers had kept the deity of Sriram and held prayers in their houses. Tamilisai too had posted a similar picture thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On 6 August, Shankar tweeted to Tamilisai in a derogatory manner.”
The complainant has demanded legal action be taken against Shankar.
