New Delhi: The Delhi Police is investigating the role of a woman based in the UK after its probe revealed that she, along with lawyer Nikita Jacob and engineer Shantanu Muluk, allegedly drafted the content of a ‘twitter storm’ campaign in February in support of the ongoing farmer agitation.

Police have so far arrested Bengaluru-based climate activist Disha Ravi in connection with the toolkit, while Jacob and Muluk have secured transit bail.

The toolkit had come under police scanner after Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg tweeted it on 3 February, with police claiming the sequence of events in the farmers’ protests, including the violent incidents at Red Fort on Republic Day, was a ‘copycat’ of the alleged action plan in the document.

According to the police, a woman, who is a member of the UK chapter of Extinction Rebellion (XR), along with Jacob and Muluk drafted the content.

A senior police officer said, ‘The UK-based woman joined them. She made a package and added to the document through hyperlink. The toolkit was accidently published when she was simultaneously editing it. She wrote that police are attacking protesters…many injured, many disappearing and many individuals are already reported dead. This was created to mislead in future. They wrote it before the actual thing happened.’

While examining their WhatsApp chats, another name Thilaka, also a member of XR, emerged. During investigation, the police found that Thilaka also helped them in drafting the document and was in contact with Jacob and Disha Ravi, the officer added.
