Ahmedabad: Yes, you read it right. Controversy has erupted in Gujarat’s Vadodara after Congress in its manifesto for the upcoming civic body polls promised ‘dating destination with coffee shops’ to the youth.
The BJP lodged a strong protest saying that Congress has never associated itself with ‘Indian values’ and the party’s promise of ‘dating destinations’ will promote ‘Love Jihad’.
Speaking to ANI on the promise to provide a ‘dating destination’, Congress leader Chandrakant Srivastava said that the promise was printed on the manifesto after deliberations between party leaders and claimed that the present generation would understand the benefit of the promise.
Meanwhile, dubbing the Congress’ manifesto an ‘influence of Italian culture’, the BJP said that it has ‘offended the people of the cultural city Vadodara’. Vadodara BJP president Vijay Shah said, ‘It can promote love jihad. We are against it.’
