Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin has requested Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to stitch an alliance against the BJP at the national level, like the combine led by his party in Tamilnadu.
Speaking at a public meeting in Salem on Sunday, he also ccused the Centre of unleashing a chemical and cultural attack against the State.
Rahul Gandhil on Sunday launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and said the State was being controlled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the RSS.
Addressing election rally in Salem, in which all the leaders of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance attended, he said the present AIADMK is not the old AIADMK.
The old AIADMK is finished and the present AIADMK is behind a mask, he said.
Drawing parallel to the wearing of masks in view of the corona pandemic and its importance, Rahul said, ‘today we see masks everywhere. It is difficult to recognise what is behind the
mask’.
‘If you smile at someone by wearing a mask, people do not know that you are smiling. This is what you have to understand about AIADMK’, he said.
Stating that the present AIADMK was not the old one and told the people not to get confused, Rahul said this is AIADMK with a mask.
