New Delhi: The Federation of resident doctors’ association (Forda) gave a call for observing 1 June as ‘Black Day’ to protest against the remarks made by Baba Ramdev against allopathic medicines.
The nationwide protests are aimed at condemning the ‘derogatory and distasteful statements’ made by the Yoga guru, Forda said, adding that the protests will take place ‘without hampering the patient care.’
Meanwhile, prominent association representing doctors in Gujarat on Monday approached the Ahmedabad city police and sought registration of an FIR against yoga guru Ramdev for his alleged disparaging remarks against modern medicine and its practitioners.
Senior doctors and office-bearers of the Gujarat unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) submitted separate applications to the Navrangpura police, seeking action against Ramdev, who is in the eye of a storm over his remarks on allopathy and vaccines.
