Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin is set to visit Tiruvarur today. This is the first time that Stalin will be visiting his father and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s birth place after assuming office as Chief Minister.
Sources said that Stalin will pay his tributes to his father at his house in Tiruvarur after which he will go to Karunanidhi’s mother Anjugam Ammal’s memorial in Kaattur and pay his respects.
It is said that Stalin will carryout inspection at the Tiruvarur Government Medical College on 7 July.
It may be recalled that Stalin began his election campaign from Tiruvarur. The decision to pick Tiruvarur as the starting point was seen as a sentimental move as the constituency was held by Karunanidhi until his death.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election too, Stalin commenced his election campaign including the Assembly byelection for Sannidhi Street in Tiruvarur.
