State government sanctioned Rs 20 crore for pre-monsoon preparedness work for the year 2022-2023 in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore districts of Tamil Nadu, as per the government order.”The major waterways in Chennai such as Cooum River, Adyar River, Buckingham Canal, Otteri Nullah, Virugambakkam Canal, and river mouth and flood carrier drains in Cuddalore district which are been maintained by the Water Resources Department (WRD).
