Wet spell to continue in city

Intermittent showers in Chennai will continue for next 48 hours, says Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC). Several parts of Chennai including T Nagar, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar, T Nagar, Nanganallur, Tambaram, Guindy saw brief showers. A few places in the state including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalapet, and Kancheepuram is likely to witness light to moderate shower during the evening hours, the RMC said. Water-logging was reported in few interior areas. Says Lakshman, ‘The sudden spell if rain has brought relief from soaring Mercury level. We didn’t expect rains this part of the year. Hopefully there won’t be water woes this year’. The maximum temperature in the city on Wednesday was around 34 degrees Celcius while the minimum was between 23-24 degrees Celcius.
