The much-anticipated Santhanam starrer “Vadakkupatti Ramasamy” will hit screens 2 February. Directed by Karthik Yogi, known for his work on Santhanam’s “Dikkiloona,” the film is set to bring forth a period comedy-drama backed by People Media Factory, renowned for supporting projects like “Goodachari” and “Witness.” Santhanam plays Vadakkupatti Ramasamy, portrayed as a character with kleptomaniac tendencies, especially when it comes to money. Director Karthik Yogi shared insights into the film, stating, “The film deals with a real-life incident that happened in a village in the 1960s-70s. Also, Ramaswamy is an iconic Tamil name that continues to create waves, and we have explored layers and meanings behind that name.” Apart from Santhanam, the cast includes Tamizh from “Jai Bhim,” Megha Akash, John Vijay, MS Bhaskar, Rajendran, Seshu, Ravi Mariya, and Nizhalgal Ravi, among others. Sean Roldan is responsible for the music, while cinematography and editing are handled by Deepak and Shiva Nandeeswaran, respectively. “Vadakkupatti Ramasamy” promises a unique blend of humor, drama, and a glimpse into the eccentricities of a village during a particular period. As the trailer creates anticipation, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 2, offering audiences a delightful cinematic experience.
