Excitement is building among cinephiles as the release date for “Anjaamai,” starring Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan, has been confirmed for June 7. Directed by debutant SP Subburaman, the film promises to offer a compelling narrative that delves into the impact of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam on students. Upon its release, “Anjaamai” will go head-to-head with Vasanth Ravi and Sathyaraj’s “Weapon” and Mohan’s “Haraa.”
The film’s trailer, which was released earlier, provided a glimpse into the storyline, showcasing Vidaarth as a theatre actor and Vani Bhojan as his wife. The plot revolves around their son, an aspiring medical student who finds the NEET exam challenging to clear. Rahman portrays an advocate fighting against the necessity of the NEET exams, setting the stage for a thought-provoking exploration of the education system’s commercialization.
Director Subburaman expressed his vision for the film, emphasizing the need to address the commercialization of education and its impact on students. “Anjaamai” aims to capture the complexities of family dynamics while delivering a gripping narrative. Subburaman hinted at surprises in store for the audience, promising a relatable and emotionally resonant experience for viewers of all ages.
Apart from Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast including Rahman, Krithik Mohan, and Ramar. The technical team behind “Anjaamai” features music by Raghav Prasad, cinematography by Karthick, and editing by Ramsudharsan. Produced by Dr. M Thirunavukarasu under the Tiruchithram banner, the film will be presented by Dream Warrior Pictures.
