A total of 1,097 MBBS and BDS seats remain vacant across government and private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, following the conclusion of the second round of counseling.
Currently, there are 33 vacant MBBS seats in government medical colleges and 498 in private self-financing colleges, bringing the total to 531 available MBBS seats. Additionally, 62 BDS seats remain vacant in government institutions, with a total of 566 medical seats still unfilled across all categories.
The Directorate of Medical Education has announced that the third round of counseling for these seats will be conducted soon via their official website, tnmedicalselection.net.
Meanwhile, students who secured seats in the first and second rounds of counseling have been given an extended deadline until October 13 to surrender their seats without penalty, if they choose to do so.
Classes for MBBS courses are set to begin on October 14, while classes for paramedical courses will commence on October 16, as per the notification from the Directorate of Medical Education.
