Seeman, the coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), stated that no action could be executed without absolute power. He made this comment after meeting the workers of a closed tea estate in Mancholai, Nellai. Seeman questioned, “If courts are the ultimate deciders for everything, what is the purpose of having a Parliament and Legislative Assemblies?”He elaborated, “Without absolute power, no action can be genuine. This is a reality that holds true across the world. Only an individual wielding absolute power can act with integrity. Renowned leaders such as former Prime Minister Nehru and former Chief Minister Kamaraj were benevolent autocrats.”
Seeman added, “If anyone does not adhere to the party’s regulations, even if they are influential, they have no place here. If I am considered an autocrat, so be it. Those who wish to leave are free to do so and can join parties lacking authority.”
Seeman also criticized environmental exploitation, stating, “Waste from Kerala is dumped in Tamil Nadu, and our natural resources are extracted and sent to that state. Do they not have mountains or sand in Kerala? The leaders here are not true leaders but agents who sign off for commissions, acting as brokers.”
A heated argument broke out during the NTK meeting held in KTC Nagar, Nellai, where legislative constituency leaders gathered. Some party officials staged a walkout, alleging that Seeman spoke harshly when they voiced their concerns. They also claimed that their mobile phones were confiscated upon entry, indicating strict measures taken during the gathering.
