Tamil Nadu Law Minister Raghupathi has sharply criticized AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), accusing him of spreading falsehoods for political mileage and creating fear among the public. In a statement, Raghupathi alleged that EPS’s actions are aimed at instilling fear among Tamil Nadu’s youth to project a political agenda. He accused EPS of adopting a Goebbels-like propaganda strategy, repeating lies to make them appear true.
The minister emphasized that under the Dravidian model government, women are empowered to file complaints courageously. He stated that EPS’s false narratives and attempts to mislead the public are unbecoming of a leader.
Raghupathi addressed the controversy surrounding the FIR leak in the Anna University sexual harassment case, clarifying that the Tamil Nadu government has acted transparently. He dismissed EPS’s claim that the FIR was released by the police, citing technical issues with the central government’s NIC (National Informatics Centre) portal as the cause of the leak.
He also criticized EPS for failing to address criminal activities during his tenure, stating that the accused, Gnanasekaran, had committed offenses between 2014 and 2019, when EPS was in power. Raghupathi questioned why stringent action wasn’t taken against such criminals during that time.
Concluding his statement, the minister expressed confidence that the people of Tamil Nadu would not fall for EPS’s alleged falsehoods and fear-mongering tactics. He urged the public to see through what he called a campaign of baseless rumors and divisive politics.
