AIADMK MLAs were evicted from the Tamil Nadu Assembly after staging a protest when Speaker Appavu denied permission for a calling attention motion brought by Opposition Leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).

EPS had sought to introduce the motion regarding the recent Usilampatti police murder case. However, Assembly Leader Durai Murugan insisted that such motions must be submitted in the proper format before being considered for discussion. Following this, Speaker Appavu announced that the motion would not be taken up for debate today.

Angered by the Speaker’s decision, AIADMK MLAs raised slogans, leading to a chaotic situation in the Assembly. As the protest escalated, Speaker Appavu ordered their eviction.

Addressing the Assembly after the incident, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated that seeking permission from the Speaker was a necessary procedural norm before discussing calling attention motions. He urged opposition members to adhere to Assembly traditions and refrain from making selective allegations about law and order issues.

CM Stalin also condemned AIADMK members for allegedly threatening the Speaker by gesturing aggressively and justified the disciplinary action taken against them.
