Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh has shared an update on school admissions in the state. He stated that a large number of students have joined government schools in the past month.
The admission drive for the 2025-26 academic year began on March 1. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the campaign in Chennai. Since then, many parents have eagerly enrolled their children in government schools.
According to the minister, 1,17,310 students have joined government schools within a month. This includes 1,05,286 students enrolling in Class 1. The admission process is still ongoing, allowing more students to join. He emphasized that government schools provide a strong foundation for education.
