His statement, equating wearing a sacred mark (pottu) and rosary (kayiru) with being a “Sanghi,” is not only offensive but also a deliberate attempt to polarize communities.Such remarks violate democratic principles and threaten the religious harmony of Tamil Nadu. Freedom of faith is a fundamental right, and leaders must refrain from making hate-filled, divisive statements.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin must take immediate action against Rajaās inflammatory comments. Given that Stalinās own family follows Hindu traditions, it is crucial for the DMK leadership to reject Rajaās rhetoric and reassure the Hindu community that their beliefs will be respected and protected.
The DMKās history of undermining Hindu customs further fuels concerns about its anti-Hindu stance. Tamil Naduās people must reject such divisive politics and demand leaders who promote tolerance and unity.
Rajaās actions are a direct threat to Tamil Naduās social fabric. To preserve communal peace, Stalin must expel Raja from the DMK immediately and ensure that hate speech has no place in Tamil Naduās political discourse.
By allowing leaders like Raja to make such insensitive and provocative statements, the DMK risks alienating a large section of Tamil Naduās population. The state has long been known for its cultural inclusivity and religious diversity, and such comments only serve to tarnish this legacy. If the party truly believes in social justice and equality, it must prove it by taking firm action against Raja.
If Stalin fails to act, it will send a dangerous message that hate speech is tolerated within the party. Political leaders have a responsibility to foster unity and respect, not division and resentment. To preserve communal peace, Stalin must expel Raja from the DMK immediately and ensure that hate speech has no place in Tamil Naduās political discourse.
