Mumbai,  July 18: Telecom company Bharti Airtel has announced that it is offering a free one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro, an advanced AI-powered search tool, to all its customers. This offer is available to over 360 million Airtel users, including mobile, broadband, and DTH customers.
Perplexity Pro normally costs ₹17,000 per year. The subscription includes access to premium features like unlimited Pro searches, use of top AI models such as GPT-4.1 and Claude, the ability to upload files, generate images, and use tools for deep research.
To activate the offer, users must go to the Airtel Thanks app, click on the “Rewards & OTT” section, and redeem the benefit. The offer is valid until January 17, 2026.
Airtel’s Managing Director Gopal Vittal said the partnership with Perplexity will help people in India get easier access to advanced AI tools. Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas said the tie-up aims to make professional AI tools available to more students and professionals.
This is the first time Perplexity has partnered with an Indian telecom company for such an offer. It reflects a growing trend where telecom companies bundle AI-based productivity tools instead of just entertainment apps.
This move is seen as part of Airtel’s broader strategy to position itself as a digital-first brand, catering to the evolving needs of its tech-savvy user base. By offering tools like Perplexity Pro, Airtel aims to enhance customer experience beyond connectivity—supporting students, professionals, and small businesses in boosting productivity, learning, and innovation through AI.
