The Tamil Nadu government has handed over the Kavin murder case to the CBCID (Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department).Kavin, an IT worker from Thoothukudi, was killed in Palayamkottai, Nellai. The main accused is Surjith, who didn’t approve of Kavin’s relationship with his sister. The two were from different communities.
Surjith has been arrested. His parents, Saravanan and Krishnakumari, who are both sub-inspectors, have been suspended. A police case (FIR) has been filed against them.
Kavin’s family has refused to take his body. They are also not accepting the government relief money. They want Surjith’s parents arrested first.
Due to public anger and protests, the government has moved the case to CBCID to ensure a fair and proper investigation.
