Amid the intensifying internal conflict within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), party founder Dr. S. Ramadoss has declared that a special General Body meeting will be held on 17 August.
The clash between Dr. S. Ramadoss and his son, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss—the party’s current president—has escalated, with both operating independently and making rival administrative decisions. Leadership appointments, suspensions, and declarations have been issued separately, revealing divided control at the highest level
The upcoming special session, likely to discuss PMK’s internal state and chart future strategies, occurs as the party heads into the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Both sides are clamoring for control amid accelerating preparations.
