Adelaide, Aug 8:  Australian Sam Konstas and Nathan McSweeney, who both made their debut against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, were named in the ‘A’ squad that is set to play two four-day matches against India A in Lucknow next month.
Sam Konstas had replaced Nathan McSweeney during the last India-Australia series, but failed to make an impact at the top-order. He had a disappointing outing in the Caribbean even though his side dominated the West Indies.
19-year-old Sam Konstas is the only current Test player that is named in the ‘A’ side, whereas other capped players include Nathan McSweeney, Cooper Connolly and spinner Todd Murphy.
Sam Konstas made quite an impression on his debut in Melbourne Test, as he scored an aggressive half-century and even got shoulder barged by Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli. He was later involved in verbal spats with rest of the Indian players, but could not live up to the expectations.
