Kuttram Pudhithu is an upcoming crime thriller film produced by GKR Cine Arts, written and directed by Nova Armstrong. The movie marks the debut of Tarun Vijay as the hero, with Sheshvitha Kanimozhi playing the female lead.
The film, which also stars Madhusoodhan Rao, Nizhalgal Ravi, Ramachandran Durai, Boys Rajan, and Priyadarshini Rajakumar, is set to hit theaters on August 29.
The director, Nova Armstrong, shared that the story revolves around a food delivery boy who suffers a head injury, leading to strange behavioral changes. He is then accused of murder, and the plot explores whether he is truly responsible or if a primal “beast” within him is to blame. Armstrong noted that Tarun Vijay’s character displays gorilla-like mannerisms, requiring the actor to walk on his hands and feet, an intense physical challenge.
Tarun Vijay, the film’s lead, revealed that despite his family of doctors wanting him to pursue medicine, he chose acting. He underwent formal training and was drawn to the film because it offered a significant opportunity to showcase his skills. Vijay trained for three months to convincingly portray the gorilla-like movements, enduring shoulder pain to perfect the role. He also shared that he added “Vijay” to his name as he believes it brings him strength.
The film’s actress, Sheshvitha Kanimozhi, expressed her surprise at being cast, as she isn’t on Instagram and believed a strong social media presence was a prerequisite for actresses today. She was cast after a successful audition, and she is confident the film will appeal to all audiences.
