India and China may restart direct flights as early as next month. This move shows improving relations between the two countries. The Indian government has told airlines like Air India and IndiGo to be ready to start flights to China quickly. Direct flights between the two nations have been stopped since the Covid-19 pandemic. Relations between India and China have been tense since a deadly clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. It was the most serious military fight in decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tianjin later this month for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. This will be his first trip to China since 2019. China welcomed his visit and said they expect the meeting to bring friendship and good results.
