Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin made remarks that were seen as a veiled criticism of Vijay. The comments came during an introductory meeting for district youth wing leaders belonging to two legislative constituencies—Mylapore-Thyagaraya Nagar in South-West Chennai and Thiruvottriyur in Northeast Chennai. Udhayanidhi said that youth must act not with noise, but with political understanding and policy awareness. He emphasized that this gathering should not be a spectacle that draws attention by raising voices, but rather an event grounded in clear principles.
He also spoke about the work the youth wing plans to do, urging them to contribute meaningfully.
He referred to the upcoming 2026 legislative assembly elections, stating: “Let us aim for victory. Let us create history.”

The phrase “gathering without political understanding but full of noise” is widely seen as an indirect dig at Vijay and TVK, criticizing their style of political mobilization. DMK leaders have reportedly been critical of TVK of late.
