The Avadi Bus Terminal has been temporarily shifted as modernization works have started to upgrade the facility.According to a press release from the Joint Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation, the project is being carried out under the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA).
From September 14, the terminal will function from a vacant site on M.D.H. Road, about 100 meters away from the existing terminal. The temporary site is located opposite the old terminal.
All buses that used to operate from the original terminal will now depart from this new temporary location.
Authorities said the temporary terminal will be used until the modernization and construction are completed.
For the benefit of commuters, a monthly ticket sales counter has also been set up at the temporary facility.
