Amid the ongoing dispute between PMK founder S. Ramadoss and his estranged son Anbumani Ramadoss, the Election Commission of India (EC) has formally communicated that the latter remains the president of the party. Following a dispute raised by the supporters of Dr. Ramadoss, the EC, in an official communication addressed to the PMK founder, on Thursday, said: “As per the records of the Commission, the term of office-bearers of the Pattali Makkal Katchi is valid up to August 1, 2026, and Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss is the president of the party.” The poll body advised Dr. Ramadoss’s faction to approach the appropriate party forum or competent court to settle the matter regarding the office-bearers of the party. @@@
