Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan said the nation would witness a “stunning political turnaround” from the party after Pongal 2026.
Speaking to reporters at Coimbatore airport, the former AIADMK heavyweight and nine-time MLA dismissed rivals’ criticism — including remarks by Tamilisai Soundararajan that TVK was inactive — stating that electoral results, not opinions, would reveal the party’s real strength.
“Be patient. Just as crawling infants grow into independent adults, our political journey too will evolve,” he said.
Sengottaiyan described TVK leader Vijay’s recent statement on the Special Investigation Register (SIR) as comprehensive and appropriate. On mixed reactions to the Erode public meeting, he said such responses were natural in politics. He added that discussions with Vijay would be held to finalise the venue for the next general council meeting, indicating increasing internal activity ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
His remarks reflect TVK’s confidence in reshaping Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, positioning Vijay’s party as a serious contender against established forces, including the DMK.
