The highly anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has unveiled Rukmini Vasanth as the poised and commanding Mellisa, adding another layer of intrigue to the film’s rich ensemble. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written with Yash, the film continues to push cinematic boundaries, blending high-octane action with nuanced storytelling.Set against the backdrop of a vibrant late-1960s party, Mellisa is portrayed as a figure of absolute self-assurance, moving through the festive chaos with a sharp, focused gaze. Her introduction follows the reveal of other key characters, including Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, and Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, further deepening the film’s immersive world.
Geetu Mohandas praised Rukmini’s approach, saying, “What I admire most about Rukmini is her intelligence as an actor. She doesn’t just perform, she processes… constantly building her own inner world. Watching her work reminds me that intelligence on screen often lies in what is left unsaid.”
