The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has announced that it will convene a major district secretaries’ meeting on January 20 at the Anna Arivalayam headquarters in Chennai as part of its preparations for the upcoming **2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.The meeting, to be chaired by Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin, will bring together district secretaries and party MLAs from across the state to discuss organisational strategies and election-related plans. The announcement was made by DMK general secretary Durai Murugan, who said the gathering is crucial for strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation and coordination efforts ahead of the polls.
In addition, the DMK has outlined a schedule for its election report preparation committee, which will visit various districts from January 19 to February 15 to gather feedback and ideas from party members and supporters. This outreach initiative aims to inform the party’s campaign priorities and enhance engagement with voters at the local level.
The January 20 meeting highlights the DMK’s push to consolidate its organisational base and fine-tune strategies as it heads into a fiercely contested electoral battle later this year.
