Senior DMK leader T R Balu will be honoured with the prestigious Anna Award by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on January 16, it was announced on Wednesday. The award ceremony will take place during a special event to recognise distinguished public service.Duraimurugan, a veteran politician and former minister, has been a prominent figure in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape for several decades. The Anna Award, named after C N Annadurai, founder of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), is conferred to leaders who have made significant contributions to social welfare, public life and the principles of the Dravidian movement.
Chief Minister Stalin is expected to present the accolade at a formal function in Chennai, attended by senior government officials, party leaders and well-wishers.
