Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a spirited address at the Pongal festival celebrations, underlining the state government’s commitment to inclusive development and welfare.

In his speech, he stressed that his administration is striving to ensure that everyone in Tamil Nadu receives what they need to lead a prosperous life.

During the event, Stalin highlighted several key welfare measures undertaken by his government to support families across the state.

Among them, he noted the Pongal gift scheme, through which over 2.2 crore rice ration card–holding families will receive a cash assistance of ₹3,000, along with a festival hamper containing essentials like rice, sugar and sugarcane. Recipients will also get traditional gifts such as dhoti and saree ahead of the harvest festival.

Stalin said the state government is working tirelessly to provide for every citizen’s needs, whether in terms of economic support, social welfare or basic necessities. He urged the public to view these efforts as part of a broader vision for shared prosperity and upliftment across communities.

The Chief Minister also reiterated the importance of celebrating Pongal with joy, unity and cultural pride, noting that the festival represents not only a harvest celebration but also a reaffirmation of Tamil traditions and values. In his message, he emphasized that the government’s policies are focused on ensuring equitable benefits for all people, regardless of background or location.

In addition to festival outreach, Stalin’s administration has launched citizen‑centric initiatives such as the “Tell Us Your Dream” programme, which aims to collect aspirations from households and convert them into actionable government plans to shape Tamil Nadu’s development through 2030.

Officials say that the festival address comes at a time when the government is intensifying its welfare delivery and public engagement efforts across sectors — from health and education to rural infrastructure and employment — reinforcing the message that governance should respond directly to the needs of all people.
