Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai on Friday afternoon ahead of a major political rally scheduled in Maduranthakam later today. The event is being seen as a key campaign stop for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Modi was welcomed at the airport by AIQDamak general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami, party leaders and local officials upon his arrival. From Chennai, he is expected to proceed to Maduranthakam by helicopter, where a large public meeting has been organised to showcase the NDA’s outreach and electoral momentum in the state.
