Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announced a new set of 11 welfare measures for village temple priests at the Village Temple Priests Conference held in Mylapore, aimed at enhancing their social security and financial support.
Among the key measures is the provision of new garments for priests every Pongal festival, increased financial assistance for families of deceased priests, and a rise in the annual income ceiling for village temple priests.
The_CM also announced an increase in support for priestsā children ā including higher marriage aid and education funding ā as well as expanded vocational training opportunities.
Other benefits include enhanced financial support for priestly rites and increased assistance for skill training at vocational institutes.
The package is designed to improve quality of life for priests and their families, providing recognition and financial relief to those serving in rural temples across Tamil Nadu.
