The makers of Muthu Alias Kaattaan, starring Vijay Sethupathi, have released the much-awaited trailer of the upcoming web series after its teaser generated significant buzz among fans.
The teaser had earlier grabbed attention for its unusual and absurd storyline, featuring striking visuals of Vijay Sethupathi’s severed head wearing a broad smile. The intriguing concept quickly sparked curiosity about the series and its mysterious narrative.
The series has been created by National Award-winning filmmaker Manikandan. Speaking about the project, Vijay Sethupathi said he was immediately drawn to the story when it was first narrated to him.
“When Manikandan first narrated Kaattaan to me, he shared a six-page synopsis. I was instantly hooked by the character and the world he had imagined. Working on this series gave me a real sense of peace as an actor,” he said.
The series also features Milind Soman, Sudev Nair and Muthukumar in key roles.
Milind Soman said the project stood out because of its gripping narrative and strong characters. “As someone who is selective about the projects I choose, Kaattaan stood out for its gripping narrative and bold characters, and Sivettan was a role I couldn’t resist. Working on the series was an absolute thrill. The immersive sets, sharp direction and collaborating with Vijay Sethupathi and the team brought this enigmatic figure to life in ways that pushed me creatively,” he said.
The series has music composed by Rajesh Murugesan, while cinematography is handled by Madhu Neelakandan.
