Chennai,  Mar 27:
The Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) has signed an MoU with IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation to boost indigenous defence capabilities and reduce reliance on external technologies.
The collaboration will focus on developing and deploying homegrown solutions by integrating military needs with academic research and industry expertise. A Nodal Indigenisation Centre has been set up at Avadi near Chennai to support innovation and strengthen the Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor.
Officials said the partnership will accelerate development of advanced technologies, enhance operational readiness, and support startups, with a joint committee overseeing implementation and project alignment.
